Nina Lee Returns With New Song “Hate It Crave It”
New York-based singer-songwriter Nina Lee has returned with a new song “Hate It Crave It” via Enka Records.
It is her first single since “Lift Up”, which was released last July.
The song was written by Nina Lee. The accompanying music video was directed by Hans Neleman.
Nina Lee shared, “'Hate It Crave It' was written to create relatability with listeners. Being vulnerable is especially hard for me, but this was a challenge I was ready for. This versatile song has a lightness, but also a complex and layered message. The lyrics explore romance, pain, self acceptance, and beauty, and those dichotomies attracted me.”
She said of the video, “Photographer/filmmaker Hans Neleman and I made this video during my winter break from NYU's Clive Davis Institute. Neleman focuses on the harmony of opposites, the core concept of 'Hate It Crave It'. Neleman and his partner Peter Sebastian made a video for Psychedelic Furs; I was infatuated by their film, imagery, and digital manipulation. Hans captured my essence, allowing me to be myself and embody my core lyrical concepts. Our inspiration stemmed from Andrea Mary Marshall's work, and model Simonetta Cattaneo Vespucci in Botticelli's the Birth of Venus.”
She added, “This video is the most authentic representation of who I am. My hope is that through this music/video I can evoke intense feelings in listeners to create the relatability I strive for.”- “Try To Break Me" ((Live in NYC):
