Sea Girls Announces New Album “Homesick”, Premieres New Song “Sick” on BBC Radio 1
British alt-rock band Sea Girls announced their upcoming sophomore album “Homesick” would be released on January 14, 2022.
It is their first album in two years.
From the album, the band premiered the first single “Sick” on BBC Radio 1's Future Sounds with Arlo Parks.
The track was written by Henry Camamile and Nick Hahn. Produced by Larry Hibbitt and Jacknife Lee.
Frontman Henry Camamile said of the song, “"Sick" is me listing things I'm pissed off with and feeling sorry for myself, it's a growing up song where I realise I'm no longer a young child. It's me in my bedroom at home ranting with my thoughts and going down the hole of being pissed. I am sick of everything - from things I used to love through to things that feel vacuous, like consuming and buying. All these emotions are piling up and it's me just asking for a reset, a childish solution.”
He added, “It was a turning point in the writing for this album where the songs became about worrying for other people and how they were feeling. The pivot where I started writing clearly with a bigger perspective. I literally feel myself growing up throughout this song.”- 3RgSDFCrHmY

The new album comprises of 13-track, and was recorded during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“The fact that I was sitting at home where I grew up meant a lot,” Henry Camamile told NME. “We called the album 'Homesick' because it just means you belong somewhere. Even if you're out on tour or whatever, you feel like you have somewhere you belong. I belong to my past and these stories, and we had a lot of time to think about it and push and be brave in what was written about.”
He continued, “It made me think about being 17, being immature and figuring life out. It made me think about big things, life choices, how I've behaved, my family, how my grandparents grew up. It's very much rooted in where I came from. I could really feel where I was physically in the world.”- source : BBC Radio 1
