  • Doja Cat Releases New Album “Planet Her”: Streaming

  • American rapper Doja Cat released her third studio album “Planet Her” along with a new music video for “You Right”.

The album comprises of 14-track, featuring guest appearances from Young Thug, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, JID and SZA.
Doja Cat explained about the album title, “It can be taken many ways, but I feel like for the most part it's not like a feminist thing it's just like I'm really just trying to be cute and that's all it is. It's not a plan woman, every so basically 'Planet Her' is the center of the universe where all races of space exist and its where all species can kind of be in harmony there, that's kind of the lore.”
The album focuses on relationships. she said, “it's not a huge statement, not a political statement. It's just Planet Her, for girls.”
She continued, “I think in the beginning, I was just trying to be solid and be what a pop artist already was: what I'd seen on TV and what I thought was the right thing to do. But as I move on into this Planet Her era, I want to introduce things to people as opposed to just re-create and rehash. It's just more inspiring to start from a more innovative spot.”

The accompanying music video features Canadian singer-songwriter The Weeknd and directed by Quentin Deronzier.
“I made the song and then I didn't think I was going to get anybody on it. I knew that I wanted The Weeknd on this album, but we didn't know what to do,” she explained. “We played him one song, and we thought it was the perfect song but it ended up not working. Then he heard this other song but it had already been finished with two verses, but he was obsessed with it.”
