MARINA Releases New Album “Ancient Dreams In A Modern Land”: Streaming
Los Angeles-base British singer-songwriter MARINA released the fifth studio album “Ancient Dreams In A Modern Land” for the first time in two years on June 11, 2021.
The album comprises of 10-track, including preceding singles “Man's World”, “Purge the Poison”, the title track, and “Venus Fly Trap”.
MARINA shared on social media, “My 5th album is out. 🦋 2 years in the making, 100% self written + all made possible because of a wonderful team of hardworking people.”
The album draws some themes, the likes of global warming, misogyny, heartbreak and racism, with uptempo pop beat sounds.
“People tend to shy away from these kinds of issues in songs, but pop music is such an amazing vehicle to discuss those issues, and it doesn't matter if people agree with you or not—it's a conversation starter. That's the most powerful thing about art,” MARINA told Vogue.
She wrote and recorded all tracks during the COVID-19 pandemic. Produced by Marina Diamandis, Jennifer Decilveo and James Flannigan.
“I felt this anger at myself for the life I've been living and we've all been coaxed into living. The way that we were living pre-COVID wasn't sustainable or, to be honest, enjoyable,” she said. “I'm very playful with how I write with music.
