Daya Releases New EP “The Difference”: Streaming
American singer-songwriter Daya released her second EP “The Difference” on May 14, 2021 via AWAL/Sandlot & Kasher Records.
The EP is her first project in five years since the debut album “Sit Still, Look Pretty”.
The EP comprises of 6-track including preceding singles “First Time”, “Bad Girl” and “Montana”.
She created the EP during quarantine of the COVID-19 pandemic last year. Produced by Andrew Goldstein, Andy Seltzer, Dark Waves, FRND, Jack and Coke & JVKE.
Grace Tandon (her real name) shared on social media, “Learned a lot through making this EP, also learned to be less precious with things and let go when it feels right. These songs are a snapshot of the last year in quarantine and the project of spending more time with myself than ever before while processing waves of frief & isolation, guilt, love and its disorienting pull. I know it's been a really long time since I've released something in this format but I'm happy to be in a place where I feel confident in and excited about the music I'm making and surrounded by people equally excited as I am. So much more it to come soon, but for now, enjoy 'The Difference' EP out everywhere now ❤ 🕊”- She said what difference from the debut album, “Before this album I felt like I had to fit my songs into some kind of a mold, but now I'm less worried about keeping everything in a particular structure. The process feels much more free-flowing now, where I'm just trying out different ideas and seeing where they lead me. Being in the studio every day and experimenting with new sounds has opened up all these parts of me that I didn't even know were there.”
