Katy Perry Premieres New Song “Electric”
American singer-songwriter Katy Perry joined in Pokémon25, which is celebration of the twenty-fifth anniversary of the Pokémon franchise, which began with the original Japanese release of Pocket Monsters for the Game Boy in 1996.
On May 14, 2021, she premiered a new song “Electric” alongside a music video from upcoming “Pokémon 25: The Album”, which is expected to be released this fall.
The track was written by Albert Calderon, Jonathan Bellion, Stefan Johnson, Rachel Kanner, German, Jordan K. Johnson, Lucas Marx, Bruce Wiegner and Katy Perry.
The video was directed by Carlos López Estrada, who filmed in Hawaii. In the video, Katy Perry and Pikachu encourage younger versions of themselves.- ojpTpT5i-PI

“When I visited the Pokémon Café while touring Japan, I got so nostalgic. It took me back to my junior high years. So when I got the call to be a part of the 25th anniversary celebration alongside Post Malone and J Balvin, I was elated,” Katy Perry said in a statement. “The song's themes — resilience, igniting your inner light — have guided my life and also parallel Pokémon's story and characters. Pikachu is the evolved form of Pichu, so in the video, you see the younger version of me with Pichu and myself in the present day with Pikachu.
