Lukas Graham Releases New Song “Happy For You”
Danish pop band Lukas Graham released a new song “Happy For You” from their upcoming fourth studio album on May 14, 2021.
The track was written by Samantha Ashley DeRosa, Morten Ristorp, JP Clark, Joe Kirkland, Samuel Wishkoski, Lukas Forchhammer, David LaBrel, David LaBrel, Pete Kelleher and Tom Barnes. Produced by TMS.
The accompanying music video was directed by Phillip Jacques and Daniel Manicus.
The song follows up “Where I'm From”, which is include on their documentary film “7 Years of Lukas Graham”.
Lukas Graham said of the song, “It's a song about the terrible 'what if the worst came to pass,' and we weren't together. I'd want you to be happy whatever that entails, and if I didn't want you to be happy, then was it ever real love? Or, was it just infatuation and desire? 'Happy For You' attempts to narrate the broken-heartedness of the breakup, acknowledging the difficulties and the struggle of the one 'left behind'.”
The new album is expected to be released later this year.- The documentary film “7 Years of Lukas Graham” is set to be released on October 26, 2021.
The film was directed by Renè Sascha Johannsen. The film chronicles the rise of the band from the beginning and sees the band's growth largely through frontman Lukas Forchhammer's eyes.
The film observes how the young artist channels his grief over his father's sudden death into music and matures as a musician as he becomes a father.
Lukas Forchhammer told Point of View Magazine, “The working title was The Rise and Curse of Lukas Graham because my father was dead. I had everything I ever dreamed of, but my father wasn't there to enjoy it with me.”
Renè Sascha Johannsen said, “7 Years” was a curse for a while. While Lukas were touring, all the fans came up and wanted to share all their losses and how they could relate to your lyrics. That's my perception why we were going to call it The Rise and Curse of Lukas Graham.” - source : Spotify
