Miley Cyrus Performs at Super Bowl Pre-Show with Billy Idol & Joan Jett
American singer-songwriter Miley Cyrus appeared on 2021 Super Bowl LV pre-show along with British singer-songwriter Billy Idol and American rock singer Joan Jett.
She performed outside Raymond James Stadium for a crowd of 7,500 vaccinated healthcare workers invited by the NFL to support their life-saving work during the COVID-19 pandemic.
“This is my first show in about a year,” Miley Cyrus said on stage, "and I couldn't imagine a better way to do this than in Tampa, surrounded by healthcare heroes. We are so appreciative of you and all your diligence.”
She continued, “I hope I can have more like these [concerts]. And that dream will only be a reality because of people like yourselves...Our gratitude toward you is infinite.”
Miley Cyrus and Billy Idol played “Night Crawling” and Billy Idol's 1982 hit song “White Wedding”. “Night Crawling” is included on her seventh studio album “Plastic Hearts”.
Joan Jett performed her collaboration song “Bad Karma” with Miley Cyrus, her 1980 song “Bad Reputation”, and the 1988 song “I Hate Myself for Loving You”.
“When folks think of football weekend, they don't always think strong women, but after this I thinks they will," Miley Cyrus said, after Jett left the stage.
