  • Mothica Releases New Song “forever fifteen”

  • Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Mothica released a new song “forever fifteen” following her debut album “Blue Hour”.

The song will appear on her upcoming EP, which is set to be released in March.
It was written by Eva Honey, Lenii, Alexandra Veltri and Mothica. Produced by David Burris.
The accompanying lyric video was directed by Patrick R Young and Powell Robinson.
She wrote the song for the ten-year anniversary of her suicide attempt where she was fifteen, hence the title.
Mothica said of the song, “I wrote down 'forever fifteen' in my notes when I realized that if my suicide attempt had worked, I would forever be remembered that way. Coming up on the 10 year anniversary of that, I wanted to write a song that really captured that restless feeling I had as a teenager. I was incredibly self-destructive, doing anything I could to get out of my head. This is definitely my most vulnerable release yet.”
  • She shared on social media, “I was assaulted by my youth pastor when I was thirteen,” she shared on social media. “And after that, I became incredibly self-destructive– drinking and doing dr*gs, and being around older men that would buy me alcohol, which is what that [he said, 'love that you're fifteen'/ten shots of whiskey/he brought to my bedside/said 'now you'll be all right'] song lyric is about. My first experiences with men were not consensual, and I didn't feel like I should be alive anymore. I really hurt myself. I kept drinking and doing dr*gs for the next ten years. Now, I've been sober for like a year and a half, and I get to share this story.”
