Dua Lipa Drops New Music Video for “Levitating” Remix With Madonna, Missy Elliott & The Blessed Madonna
British singer-songwriter Dua Lipa dropped a new version of “Levitating” on August 13, 2020.
She worked with American DJ The Blessed Madonna, singer-songwriter Madonna and rapper Missy Elliott. The accompanying music video was directed by Will Hooper.
The original version of the song is included her sophomore album “Future Nostalgia” released back in March.
"I decided to take the party up a notch with the incomparable The Blessed Madonna, who secretly helped me to craft the mixtape that would become Club Future Nostalgia and the absolute queens Missy Elliott and Madonna joined me for an epic remix of 'Levitating,'" Dua Lipa said of the song in a statement.
She added, “I jumped on the phone with her (Missy Elliott), and we had a little talk and she really just does stuff that she really believes in, so that I felt it was such a massive compliment for me, for her to be so inspired by the remix and the track, and to want to be a part of it and be a part of this mix tape. And it really is a dream come true.”- Missy Elliott said, “I am humbly grateful that Dua asked me to be a part of this record because I am a fan of her work, and I love the whole 80's vibes that her music gives. When her team sent the track, I was like 'ooooh this is fire!' and I immediately recorded my verse. She heard it and loved it and here we are!”
The Blessed Madonna said, “It was like a million air horns going off in my own head when I got the pieces. Even the idea of it, the first thing I said was, I was like, 'If this is a possibility, I cannot stress enough how much I want to do this.' I was like, 'Don't let anyone else have it. Me. It's me. This is what I want to do. And then I got the part and Dua's voice is so beautiful. And to hear it all broken down and how amazing… To get an album like that and be able to look at the architecture of it is just such a pleasure. And then to get to do that with the remixes too.” - source : Billboard
