Alessia Cara Releases New EP “This Summer”: Streaming
Canadian singer-songwriter Alessia Cara released her second EP “This Summer” on September 6th.
The EP is the follow-up to her sophomore album “The Pains of Growing”, which was released last November.
She announced the EP on twitter along with the lead single “Ready” back in July.
The EP comprises of 6-track. She wrote each song in this summer. Alessia Cara told Zach Sang Show about the EP, “[This EP is] a collection of stories that I had in the back of my head that I wanted to write about, but I wrote them all this summer. Actually, I kind wrote them all in one week this summer, which is kind of really fun and I’ve never really done that before. I wrote a lot of it inside the bus. We set up a little studio in the bus with my producer Jon Levine and we just fleshed out all the songs there.“
She continued, “I’ve been writing from a place [that’s] more confident, a place of peace within myself, and seeing things from a different perspective. Feeling lighter about things and letting things happen the way they should… While this record is emotional in many ways, it’s just a lot lighter and I’m just trying to brush off a lot of the problems that I’ve encountered in the last couple of months.”
She will embark on 2019 US Tour between October and November. The tour kicks off at Orpheum Theatre Boston on October 21st.
