City Girls Premieres New Music Video for “Twerk” featuring Cardi B
American hip hop duo City Girls has dropped a new music video for “Twerk” featuring American rapper Cardi B, directed by DAPS.
The song was released last November from their second mixtape "Girl Code". It was written by Cardi B, Master P, Choppa, JT & Yung Miami.
The duo said of the song,"The day that me and JT chose to do “Twerk”, we had went to the studio. And we had wanted to do New Orleans bounce, a song kind of like “In My Feelings.” Because we don’t have a twerk song. So we wanted to do a twerk song. Something that’s gone make you wanna dance when you hear it so we went with that song. We went with “Twerk”."
The track was produced by Rico Love. "What was our first time working with him. I was so nervous, ‘cause I was like “this like a really big producer”, you know. When we was in the studio and he played the beat and it was time for us to record. I was just like “you gotta be in the room while I record?” And he was like “yeah I’m finna make sure this record right!” But it was fun. He definitely brought the energy into the studio. Once the beat was playing. He was like “y'all don’t feel it?” We was like “yeah"It was a cool experience. It was really good," the duo explained.- source : Rolling Stone
