Rita Ora Releases New Album “Phoenix”: Stream
British singer-songwriter Rita Ora released her long-awaited sophomore album “Phoenix” on November 23, 2018.
The album is her first LP in six years under her new label Atlantic Records.
Originally, she started her new project “Phoenix” following her debut album "Ora" in 2013 under her previous label Roc Nation.
But she sued Roc Nation due to unenforceable contract in 2015. Finally she left Roc Nation and signed to Atlantic Records in 2016.
Then, she re-started “Phoenix”. "I had a bit of an issue, publicly, with putting out music which got me really, really, kind of devastated, and I was really down, and then I was really angry, and then I was really frustrated, and then I was really happy that it was happening," she said.
The album comprises of 16-track including Universal Pictures film "Fifty Shades Freed" soundtrack "For You", and features guest appearances from Avicii, Liam Payne, Cardi B, Bebe Rexha, Charli XCX and Julia Michaels.
Also the album is dedicated to Avicii, who died earlier this year. “I am paying homage to him by putting Lonely Together on the album. We are holding the flame for him. He was an incredible person and such a talent. We were very good friends and he changed my life. In a way, the album is dedicated to him,” she said.
She will embark on on the Phoenix World Tour in 2019 in support of the album in Europe, Asia and Oceania. The tour kicks off at Palais Theatre in Melbourne on March 1, 2019.
