Last month, Atlanta-based rapper 6LACK released his sophomore album "East Atlanta Love Letter". On October 15th, he shared a new music video for “Pretty Little Fears” from the album.
The song features rapper J. Cole, this marks the first time the pair has collaborated. It was written by Jakob Rabitsch, T-Minus, J. Cole and 6LACK.
Matthew Dillon Cohen directed the video, which sees 6lack and J. Cole facing relationship hurdles with their significant others.
6LACK said of the song, “Cole was already like, a fan of me. He signed my homies. […] Cole already knew about me, he signed EARTHGANG and J.I.D. And the whole time they were signed, J.I.D would just like hit me, 'Yo Cole keeps asking about you. Can he listen to the music, he a fan. Bla bla bla.' And I’m just like alright cool. Well after that, it was just us meeting.”- The album "East Atlanta Love Letter" features guest appearances from Future, J. Cole, Offset and Khalid, comprising of 14-track.
6lack explained about the album to Highsnobiety in an interview:
"Free 6lack (his debut album) was about everything I'd been through up to that point; the follow-up is an update on what's going on in my life right now. In two years, things have gone from one side of the spectrum to another. Anything I've had to go through, or learn, has been crammed into them: from being a dad, to [ending and starting] new relationships, to becoming famous and figuring out my responsibilities." - source : Billboard
