Charli XCX & Troye Sivan Premiere New Music Video for “1999”
British and Australian singer-songwriters Charli XCX and Troye Sivan have shared a new music video for “1999” directed by Ryan Staake.
The video draws popular stuff, films and artists in 1999 like TLC, Spice Girls, Steve Jobs, New Radicals, American Beauty, The Matrix, Titanic, Eminem, Backstreet Boys, the dancing baby from Ally McBeal, Justin Timberlake, The Blair Witch Project, The Sims and Rose McGowan/Marilyn Manson red carpet appearance.
“I thought ‘1999’ was such a cool title for a song, and always wanted to work it into something because I thought it would provide a lot of inspiration,” Charli XCX says. “It was less about being nostalgic. I thought it was a really poptastic title for a song.”
The song was released on October 5th and written by Charli XCX, Troye Sivan, Leland, Oscar Holter and Noonie Bao.
Charli XCX recently joined in Troye Sivan's tour at his sold out Radio City Music Hall show in NYC to perform the song together for the first time.- source : Idolator
