She said of the sog, "I wrote ‘Why Her Not Me’ in 2016 on the day I realised I had been lied to and I wasn’t the ‘only one’. This song may mean something to me but I hope you can connect it to your own lives and stories the way that I do."
The song will appear on her upcoming project, featuring further contributions from Fred Ball, Martin Sjolie, Om’Mas Keith, Justin Parker, Max McElligott, and Fred Cox.
The project is expected to be released later this year.
Carter started making music when she was 13. She released a debut song "Silence" last september and supported of Dua Lipa and Dermot Kennedy's tour.
Her debut EP "Saving Grace" was released on June 15, 2018.- vA0eg7xEk3I
She told Spindle Magazine about her music in an interview;
"Every song I’ve written is about something that has happened in my life. It’s usually a sad emotion for me, but it’s a lot about my childhood because that’s how I process it and get it all out. That’s why I feel certain that as a 20 year old, a lot of my childhood still really defines who I am. I wouldn’t be the person I am if i hadn’t experienced what I did, so all my songs are really just about my life."- source : Spotify
