  • Lora Kelley Releases New Song “Both Hands”

  • Back in January, Virginia-based singer-songwriter Lora Kelley released a new song “Both Hands” for the first time in three years.

    The song will appear on her upcoming sophomore EP, which is expected to be released in May 2018. The track reminds us of Alison Krauss.
    The music video for it was unveiled in February, directed by Nazar Melconian. Also the video was premiered exclusively on The Boot.
    The song paid tribute to her grandmother "Mo, who died after a lengthy battle with dementia. She filmed the video in a home where reminded her of her grandparents' house in Mississippi.

    Lora Kelley said of the song;
    "We had driven to her funeral in the South; my parents came to visit. We reminisced about Mo, as she was called, and our time with her. As they were leaving to return to Texas, I stood on the front porch of our house to watch them leave, and I lifted my hands to wave goodbye. My father rolled down his window and called out, 'You look just like Mo; she always waved goodbye with both hands.'"
  • She debuted with the first EP "Dusty Wheels" in 2015. She is currently working on the new music video for next song and has started writing for her debut album.
    Also she will perform at Andrew Osenga's House Show Tour as opening act on May 2nd. Learn more information, click here.
    "I’m currently working on a music video for the forthcoming single, and I’m excited to be partnering with Naz Films again. One of my personal projects is taking course work in sexual abuse and trauma care. There is so much research available now about the effects of trauma on children and adults, and I’m hopeful to continue to care for people’s stories even as I work through my own.
    I’ve also started writing for the next album, so that feels exciting," she told Vents Magazine in an interview.
