The Weeknd Releases New EP “My Dear Melancholy”
Canadian singer-songwriter Abel Makkonen Tesfaye, aka The Weeknd has released a new EP “My Dear Melancholy” via streaming music services.
Primarily produced by Frank Dukes, who serves as an executive producer alongside The Weeknd.
The EP comprises of 6-track and features contributions from Gesaffelstein, as well as DaHeala, Mike Will Made It, Skrillex and Daft Punk's Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, among others.
The sound of the EP returns to the darker style of The Weeknd's earlier work, such as "Trilogy" and "Kiss Land".
Also throughout the project it’s obvious that he is venting about Bella Hadid and Selena Gomez, who are former his girlfriends.
The EP follows his theird album "Starboy", which was released in 2016.
Recently he joined in "Black Panther: The Album" soundtrack, in which he performed "Pray for Me" with Kendrick Lamar.
On April 9th, he dropped a music video for "He Was Never There, Docupoem" including behind-the-scenes of the EP, directed by Joachim Johnson.-
