Kindo Premieres New Song “Return To Me” on SoundCloud
New York-based pop and jazz band Kindo is back. The band has delivered a new song “Return To Me” via SoundCloud and other streaming music services.
The song is the first single off of their upcoming fourth album "Happy However After", which is expected to be released in 2018.
The new album is their first LP in five years since "Play With Fire". Also this time, they officially changed their name to Kindo from The Reign of Kindo.
The sound reminds us of Pages and Steely Dan, which blends with a rhythmic piano melody, a sophisticated jazz influenced bass sound, a drum beat and heavier guitar riff.
About the song, Joey Secchiaroli (vocals and and guitar) said;
"It had been years since we wrote together when the band started jamming on this idea. I had spent those years using my writing and production skills to realize the visions of others in exchange for keeping a roof over my head and food on the table. I had a sudden fear come over me that perhaps my muse was tired of being abused and neglected. When had I last spent time with her, just for the sake of creation? In this song, my muse is personified as a lover who up and leaves me in the middle of the night...and I'm devastated. Don't worry. It didn't actually happen."- Kindo was formed in late 2006 from the remaining members of This Day & Age. Consisting of Joey Secchiaroli (guitar, vocals), Steven Padin (drums, percussion), Jeff Jarvis (bass), Danny Pizarro (keyboards), Mike Carroll (guitar, sizes), Geraldo Castillo (percussion), John Baab (guitar), Kelly Sciandra (keyboards) and Darren Escar (saxaphone).
In 2007, the band released a debut EP "The Reign of Kindo EP", reaching No. 5 on the Billboard Middle Atlantic Heatseekers chart.
Since then, the band has released three albums such as "Rhythm, Chord & Melody" (2008), "This Is What Happens" (2010) and "Play With Fire" (2013). - source : relix
