Macklemore Premieres New Song “Marmalade” Featuring Lil Yachty on Apple Beats 1
American rapper Benjamin Hammond Haggerty, aka Macklemore has delivered a new song "Marmalade" featuring American rapper Lil Yachty. The song was premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 Radio show on July 26. It was written B. Haggerty, M. McCollum, J. Karp, T. Andrews, T. Dopps and J. Rawlings.
The track follows up "Glorious" with Skylar Grey, both songs are slated to appear on his upcoming sophomore solo album.
He told Zane Lowe that he recorded 40 songs for his new album, to get down to 14-16 tracks. The album is his first LP in 12 years.
The project will be his first time in a long time not working with Ryan Lewis.
About the song, Macklemore said;
“‘Glorious’ and ‘Marmalade’ are the first two songs off the album. I always try to give a different palette of sounds and textures and vibes. [With] this album… I was in a good place man. There’s some darker songs, for sure, but, for the most part, like, if I’m in a happy place and life is good, then that’s gonna be reflected on the album.”-
