Original Koffee Premieres New Song “KOFFEE” on BBC Radio 1
Jamaican singer-songwriter Original Koffee is back. She premiered a new song “KOFFEE” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song is her first solo music in three years since the 2022 debut album “Gifted”.
As the single, the song is follow-up to the 2023 collaborative song "Gimme" with Sam Smith and Jessie Reyez.
The song will appear on her upcoming sophomore album.
It was written by Mikayla Victoria Simpson and Ronald Banful. Produced by GuiltyBeatz.
The accompanying music video was directed by Joshua Valle.
Original Koffee told Jack Saunders about the song, “The music was mostly made between Jamaica and UK. So Jamaica is my home, like, where I was born and where I grew up. And UK is my second home, obviously I'm there a lot with you guys. AndI did spend maybe three quarters of the time there creating the album.”- She said of her comeback, “I feel like I'm it's always necessary to put yourself first, to some extent, because you can have to feed yourself so that you can pour into everything else that you do. I definitely led with the title shot copy, because I feel like I'm in a little bit of an era of reintroduction. So I wanted to start out strong by, kind of reminding the people to be who I am.”
She continued, “I think change is constant, and there's definitely been a positive change that will be reflected, like in my music and everything else that I do as a result. I think there's been a lot of time to reflect and a lot of time to grow.” -
