The Spins Releases New Song “Rain or Shine”
American indie rock band The Spins, consisting of Nick Coombs (rhythm guitar/vocals), Freddy Smith (drums), Jimmy Barr (lead guitar), and Phil Dunphy (bass), released a new song “Rain or Shine” on April 24, 2025.
The song is the follow-up to “It's Me”, which was released last month.
Both songs will appear on their their upcoming third studio album, which is expected to be released in 2025.
The song is a bittersweet anthem, weaving a tapestry of nostalgia-tinged sadness with a warm, hopeful glow that looks to the future.
It was written by Frederick Smith, James Barr, Nicholas Coombs, and Philip Dunphy. Produced by Ayad Al Adhamy.
The band said of the song, “Really excited to finally share this one. This was the last song we wrote for the possibly secretly upcoming new record. We were trying to get together one last song to tie everything together, and actually wrote this one in its entirety in one day. It came together so quickly and felt so good that we knew we had to take it to the studio.”- The accompanying music video was directed by Luke Talmadge and Freddy Smith, starring Emily Moreno and Michael Xavier Reitzel.
The band said of the video, “Really happy with how this one came out. We were trying to make something that really could fully capture the emotion and energy of the song and illustrate the lyrics effectively and really feel that this one hit the mark perfectly. Huge thanks and special shout out to Emily Moreno and Michael Xavier Reitzel for lending their acting abilities to the process. Could not have done it without them.” -
