PinkPantheress Premieres New Song “Stateside” on BBC Radio 1
London-based singer-songwriter PinkPantheress premiered a new song “Stateside” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song is the second single off of her upcoming second mixtape “Fancy That”, which is set to be released on May 9, 2025 via Warner Records UK.
On the track, she worked with New York-based singer-songwriter The Dare.
The track samples Groove Armada's 2010 single “Paper Romance” featuring Fenech-Soler & Saint Saviour.
It was written by Andrew Derek Cocup, Caroline Ailin, Harrison Patrick Smithyou, PinkPantheress, Thomas Charles Findlay, and Toi Dee Wooten. Produced by PinkPantheress and The Dare.
PinkPantheress told Jack Saunders about the song, “I made this with The Dare. Do you know who The Dare is, Jack? Well, we made it together in New York. I thought he was British when I first met him. He wasn't British. I was very surprised he looks so British. I don't know if it's his hair or his energy, but I was very deceived, because I try and work with only British producers. We made the song. It's my favorite of my I think of my discography thus far. It really does hone in on the fact that after years of trying in the UK dating scene, I've now given up on British men.”- PinkPantheress shared on social media, “I did a session with a producer, someone from my publishing set up a session with. Not aware of his recent successes at the time or v familiar with his music (I'm offline/old soul) I couldn’t sworn down he was British off sight. Shocked to find out that he wasn’t, thus breaking my loose British producers only rule, but his speed in the studio is A1, just so quick and knew how to curate the drums and he knew guitar so was a brilliant session and we ended up making the (imo) best song on the project.”

The new mixtape comprises 9 songs, produced by PinkPantheress, Aksel Arvid, Count Baldor, Oscar Scheller,Phil, and The Dare.
It is her first project in two years since the 2023 debut album “Heaven Knows”.
PinkPantheress said of the mixtape in a press release, “Announcing this tape marks a huge milestone for me as an artist. This feels like the most tied together project i’ve applied myself to as an artist and for my fans who have been with me for years, I hope they can hear the signs of growth in me as an artist.” - source : BBC Radio 1
