This marks their first album in five years since the 2020 album “Women in Music Pt. III”.
The band announced the album during their live show at the Bellwether in Los Angeles on April 23, 2025.
A video screen on the stage shows messages “i quit what does not serve me”, “i quit overthinking”, “i quit shame”, “i quit nicotine”, “i quit fear”, “i quit dick”, “i quit judgement”, “i quit avoiding emotional intimacy”, “i quit my job”, “i quit caring about what you think”, “i quit waiting for an apology”, “i quit fucking around”, “i quit fucking everything”, “i quit fucking you”, “i quit wondering if someone will save me”, and “i quit new haim album coming june 20th.”
The album comprises 15 songs, co-produced by Rostam Batmanglij and Danielle Haim.- The band guitarist Alana Haim told I-D about album, “[This record is] the closest we've ever gotten to how we wanted to sound. It was a completely different experience. Working with Rostam, in general it's very quick, kinetic with him, which I really love as an artist. Maybe before, it wasn't that way, it was kind of a more...longer, searching, labored situation.”
From the album, the band premiered a new song “down to be wrong” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song is the third single off of the album, following “Relationships” and “Everybody's trying to figure me out”.
A press release describes the track as a “confident ode to self-preservation and prioritizing yourself.”
It was written by Alana Haim, Danielle Haim, Este Haim, and Rostam Batmanglij. Produced by Rostam Batmanglij and Danielle Haim. -
