Blackbriar Announces New Album “A Thousand Little Deaths”, Shares New Song “The Fossilized Widow”
Dutch symphonic metal band Blackbriar, consisting of Zora Cock (vocals), Bart Winters (guitar), Robin Koezen (guitar), Siebe Sol Sijpkens (bass), René Boxem (drums) and Ruben Wijga (Keyboards), has announced their upcoming third studio album “A Thousand Little Deaths” will be released on August 22, 2025 via Nuclear Blast Records.
It is their first album in two years since the 2023 album “A Dark Euphony”.
On the album, the band recorded 10 songs with producer Joost van den Broek again, who also produced their sophomore album.
The band stayed at the mansion featured in their 2015 video for “Until Eternity Ends” a few days while working on the album.
From the album, the band released the second single “The Fossilized Widow” along with a music video on April 23, 2025, following “I Buried Us”.
The track was written by René Boxem, Ruben Wijga, Bart Winters, and Zora Cock. Produce by Joost van den Broek.- The band lead singer Zora Cock said of the song, “'The Fossilized Widow' tells the story of a girl frozen in time, desperately holding on to someone she can never let go. She's slowly descending into madness by all those words left unsaid, all those questions left to be asked. As the years pass, her home has turned into ruins, yet the legend says she still remains, trapped in her sorrow, waiting and watching. They call her The Fossilized Widow.”
