Amy Macdonald Announces New Album “Is This What You've Been Waiting For?”, Shares Title Track
Scottish singer-songwriter Amy Macdonald is back. She has announced her upcoming sixth studio album “Is This What You've Been Waiting For?” will be released on July 11, 2025.
It is her first album in five years since the 2020 album “The Human Demands”.
The album comprises 10 songs, produced by Nicolas Rebscher.
From the album, she released the title track “Is This What You've Been Waiting For?”.
The song explores how music is for her and the importance of the connection between writing, recording, streaming and live performing.
It was written by Adam Falkner, Amy Macdonald, and James Arter. Produce by Nicolas Rebscher.- Amy Macdonald said of the song, “This song was actually inspired by when they opened The Sphere in Las Vegas - I woke up one day and saw all of these videos of it, and I thought, this is incredible! I was totally blown away by it, and it reminded me of how gigs are experiences. It really inspired me and made me think about how music is for me, and gigs have always been the most important part. But streaming has created the demand for new music all of the time - it's like a constant treadmill. This song is my view on how people always expect more music and social media content.”
