  • Mayday Parade Releases New Album “Sweet”, First of Three-Part Album

  • American rock band Mayday Parade, consisting of Derek Sanders (vocals), Jake Bundrick (drums), Alex Garcia (guitar), Brooks Betts (guitar) and Jeremy Lenzo (bass), released a new album “Sweet”, the first chapter of a three-part album marking the band's 20th anniversary on April 18, 2025.

The new three-part album is their first self-released collection since the 2006 EP “Tales Told By Dead Friends”.
After the release of “Sweet”, two additional installments to follow later this year and into 2026.
The EP comprises 8 songs, featuring a guest appearance from American rock band Knuckle Puck, produced by Zack Odom and Kenneth Mount.

Derek Sanders told Rolling Stone about the three-part album, “We just thought, 'What if we tried to do something bigger and more grand?'. It's kind of an experiment and feels like the right time to try something like this.”
  • The band frontman Derek Sanders said of the album, “Being a band for 20 years feels big and we wanted to do something big to match that. Our next release will be a large album split up into three different parts. It feels like a challenge and an exciting step forward for the band. Our goal is to take the things we've learned and the ways we've grown and apply them towards an ambitious release. We're incredibly thankful for the opportunity to continue to create music and we cannot wait to share Part 1 - titled 'Sweet' - with the world.”

  • Derek Sanders explained about some tracks for the album.

    “By the Way”
“Being in a band for this long, sometimes you feel like you're getting it right and sometimes you feel like you're dancing around what you should be doing. This song feels locked in as a step in the right direction. It's a song about trying to stay optimistic as the world and everything you know is changing around you. We hope you all enjoy it.”

“4,000 Days Plus The Ones I Don't Remember”
“'4,000 Days Plus The Ones I Don't' and 'Who's Laughing Now?' are the most pop punk we've ever gone before.”

    “Who's Laughing Now”
“It's cool to still be finding those things out about your band. Like, 'oh, we can do a full on fun, totally pop punk song and it works.' We teamed up with Joe Taylor and a bunch of YOU to make this epic video, and honestly? It was chaos in the best way! Huge love to everyone who dressed up and went wild, y'all made it unforgettable.”

    “Towards You”
“'Towards You' is really just a simple love song. Sometimes all you need is an acoustic guitar, some singing, and some strings to tell someone how much you love them.”

    “Pretty Good To Feel Something”
“'Pretty Good To Feel Something' is a song about bad things happening that alter your life and how eventually you have to let those things go and move forward. It's about appreciating what's left after it's all said and done.”
