  • Sly Withers Premieres New Song “Restless” on ABC triple j

  • Australian alt-rock band Sly Withers, consisting of Jono Mata (guitar/vocals), Sam Blitvich (guitar/vocals), Shea Moriarty (bass) and Fraser Cringle (drums), is back. The band premiered a new song “Restless” on ABC triple j with Drive.

The song is their first music in almost a year since the 2024 single “Everything”.
Also, the track will appear on their upcoming fourth studio album.
The song is an urgent, emotionally-charged anthem that pairs raw feeling with polished, powerful sound. It expresses the frustration of not being the version of yourself you want to be, whether in relationships, in life, and in the way you show up for the people you love.
The track was written by Sly Withers and produced by Stevie Knight.

Jono Mata said of the song, “'Restless' is a reflection on the frustrations of not giving your all in relationships and feeling stuck in a cycle of self-doubt. The song captures the tension of wanting to do better but struggling to get yourself together enough to really show up for the people who matter. With punchy, emo-punk energy, the song pairs intense emotion with a more polished sound, for anyone who's been caught between knowing they need to change and the frustration of not being able to”.
  • Sam Blitvich added, “The messiness of growing up. The ongoing challenges of adulthood. The simultaneous weight and fragility of one's mental health. Relationships with others, yourself, and the world around you. These are weighty, unwieldy topics – yet, they're all par for the course when it comes to Sly Withers. The emotive alt-rock band hold nothing back in their songs, hitting home with both lyrical home truths and their signature sonic intensity. Through a nurturing community and a fan-base that feels less alone on account of their music, Sly Withers have continued to evolve and mature, resulting in their rise to become a powerful force in the Australian music scene.”
