Kingfishr Releases New Song “Gloria”
Irish folk-rock band Kingfishr, consisting of Edmond Keogh (vocals/guitar), Eoghan McGrath (banjo) and Eoin Fitzgibbon (bass), released a new song “Gloria” on April 11, 2025.
The song is the follow-up to Man On The Moon, which was released back in February.
It's a song that's indicative of the emotional turmoil, but one with a tangible hope for a brighter future.
The track received its first play during BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
It was written by Edmond Keogh, Eoghan McGrath, and Eoin Fitzgibbon. Produced by David Anthony Curley.
The band frontman Edmond Keogh said of the song, “'Gloria' is about giving in to the pressures around you, and whether you can live with yourself for doing it. The song represents a yearning to break free.”- The band said, “Gloria is about sacrificing pieces of yourself for things you don't truly believe in. I suppose that's part of life and sometimes there's no way around it, but it's a dangerous game to play at the same time. I've seen a lot of people end up being very bitter about things, all because they didn't stand up for what they believed in. I guess it's easier to listen to someone else's advice than to listen to your own. At least then you can blame them if it goes arse ways lol. We wrote this song at a scary point in the band and it still carries a bit of that feeling now. We hope you find something in it worth listening to.”
