Kula Shaker Returns with New Song “Charge of the Light Brigade”
London-based rock band Kula Shaker, consisting of Crispian Mills (vocals/guitar), Alonza Bevan (bass), Paul Winterhart (drums), Jay Darlington (keyboards), returned with a new song “Charge of the Light Brigade” on April 10, 2025.
The song is their first music in a year since the 2024 seventh studio album “Natural Magick”.
Also, the track will appear on their upcoming eighth studio album, which doesn't have a set release date.
The track was written and produced by Alonza Bevan and Crispian Mills, with production by Peter Miles.
The band recorded the song at Middle Farm Studios in Devon, UK.
The band frontman Crispian Mills told MetalTalk about the song, “It was laid down live very quickly, and this was the first. It's a very heavy-sounding record, considering there's no electric guitar on it. The drums and acoustic guitar were recorded at the same time onto the same microphone. Space echo, fuzz bass and harpsichord were added afterwards and - Presto! The cavalry arrived.”- The accompanying music video was filmed at All Saints Church by Putney Bridge, where the 1976 film “The Omen” filmed.
The band shared on social media, “Packed with allusions to spiritual vampires and the fairy cavalcade, this three-minute trip is just the beginning... bringing spectral mischief and high drama to sacred ground.” - source : Apple Music
