Alex Fernet Announces New Album “Modern Night”, Shares New Song “Sunlight Vampires”
Italian post-funk singer-songwriter Alex Fernet has announced his upcoming sophomore album “Modern Night” will be released on September 12, 2025 via Bronson Recordings.
The album is his first body of work in two years since the 2023 debut album “LUCIDANOTTE”.
From the album, he released the first single “Sunlight Vampires” on April 11, 2025.
The song features a character who returns throughout the entire album. Half-metaphor, half-ghost, this figure roams the album’s ten tracks, transforming nostalgia into a political act and melancholy into a form of resistance.
The track was written and produced by Alex Fernet.
Alex Fernet said of the song, “'Sunlight Vampires' is a song dedicated to individuals often seen as unconventional, such as artists, dreamers, rebels, outcasts, and minorities. Our vulnerabilities can be our strengths, our controversies can serve as resources, and just like how poison can become an antidote, we can embrace our unique qualities. In this sunlit world, we are all vampires in our own way.”- The new album comprises 10 songs, produced by Alex Fernet. It is a deeply contemporary work that rejects digital perfection in favor of analog imperfection.
Alex Fernet said of the album, “In an era of over-edited sound, the most radical act might be to let things breathe.” -
