Green Day Releases New Song “Smash It Like Belushi”
American rock band Green Day, consisting of Billie Joe Armstrong (lead vocals/guitars), Mike Dirnt (bass) and Tré Cool (drums), will release the deluxe edition of their fourteenth studio album “Saviors” on May 23, 2025.
From the deluxe edition, the band released “Smash It Like Belushi” on April 9, 2025.
The track was written by Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool. Produced by Green Day and Rob Cavallo.
The deluxe edition comprises 22 song, including the original 15 songs, 5 new song and 2 acoustic renditions of “Suzie Chapstick” and “Father to a Son”. Produced by Green Day, and Rob Cavallo, who also produced their seven albums “Dookie”, “Insomniac”, “Nimrod”, “American Idiot”, “¡Uno!”, “¡Dos!” and “¡Tré!”.
The band shared on social media, “Thought the Saviors fun was over? WRONG. No signs of slowing down here !! Enter Saviors (édition de luxe), dropping May 23rd. The deluxe includes 5 brand new songs: 'Smash It Like Belushi,' 'Fuck Off,' 'Ballyhoo,''Underdog,' 'Stay Young,' and acoustic renditions of 'Suzie Chapstick' and 'Father to a Son.'- The band lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong told Kerrang! about working producer Rob Cavallo, “Rob definitely had a fire in his belly, and really wanted to work with us again. It made me realise how much we missed him, and how much we wanted to work with him. He’s one of the best rock producers of all time, as far as I’m concerned. His energy is off the charts. And when he’s on, you definitely get the best of yourself, and you rise above your own limitations at the same time.”
