Caamp Announces New Album “Copper Changes Color”, Shares New Song “Drive”
Ohio-based alt-folk band Caamp, consisting of Evan Westfall (banjo/guitar), Taylor Meier (vocals/guitar), Matt Vinson (bass), Joseph Kavalec (keyboards) and Nicholas Falk (drums), has announced their upcoming fifth studio album “Copper Changes Color” will be released on June 6, 2025 via Mom+Pop Music.
The album is their first body of work in three years since the 2022 album “Lavender Days”.
From the album, the band released the first single called “Drive” on April 8, 2025.
Recorded live at Flora Recording in Portland, OR, the band frontman Taylor Meier's raw, emotive vocals take center stage on the track.
Described by Taylor Meier as “kind of a spirit song for the record and new era. It's like the carabiner clipped to your jeans in high school; it sticks with you.”- The new album comprises 11 songs, featuring a guest appearance from Madi Diaz, produced by Caamp and Beatriz Artola.
The band recorded the album over two years in various studios across the U.S., including Sonic Ranch in Tornillo, TX), Sear Sound in New York, NY, and Flora Recording in Portland, OR.
The album captures the band's distinctive style while exploring the transformative personal experiences of the past few years.
Taylor Meier said of the album, “Take your rings off and wash your hands. Wrap something tightly in newspaper; give it away. Water is running, and Copper Changes Color. -
