Loyle Carner Premieres New Song “all i need” on BBC Radio 1
British rapper Loyle Carner premiered a new song “all i need” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
He also released another song “in my mind” along with “all i need”.
Two songs are his first solo music in three years since the 2022 album “Hugo”.
According to a press release, “all i need” is described as oscillating between “images of rage and hope”, while “in my mind” is described as “hypnotic” and a “hazy, sun-warmed classic of languid sounds, lyrical soul-searching”.
This time, Loyle Carner wrote more alternative music after years with his hip-hop-influenced sound.
“My son was there. I wrote it in a yellow self storage car park. And I recorded it in the studio with my son on my shoulders. So, two things,” Loyle Carner told Jack Saunders about “all i need”. “I think that the whole thing has been like, not overthinking it. No, it's been the whole process of making music, and that's been easier because I've been with my son so much, and my daughter, they've been in the studio a lot. They're like, my time is a lot more finite. So I guess it's naturally stopped me from having to stress over the miniature bits and look at things as a bigger picture.”- He continued, “I think everything then from new stuff I was really enjoying. I went to see Mk.gee recently, I love Fontaines (Fontaines D.C.). But, a lot of stuff, man, The Smiths. I was listening to a lot The Cure, just like, kind of going back to the stuff I grew up on, but it was just nice for me. I feel like I've been doing this for a while, and this is probably the first time I felt so or the only time ever I felt so comfortable with my skin. To not feel like I have to fit a stereotype of what people expect from me.”
