CAPYAC Releases New Song “U Know Y”
American electro-pop band CAPYAC, consisting of Delwin Campbell, Eric Peana and Obie Puckett, released a new song “U Know Y” on April 4, 2025.
The song follows the collaborative EP “Songs From A Celestial City” with American comedian Reggie Watts, which was released back in February.
The band wrote the song to ease the pain of the daily doldrums through Detroit and French-inspired electronic music.
It features an intoxicating lyrical loop, groovy bassline, and house beat.
The track was written by Delwin Campbell and Eric Peana. Produced by CAPYAC. The accompanying music video was directed by CAPYAC themselves,.- The band said of the song, “When the first lung-bearing fish grew legs and crawled up on that barren igneous surface 375 million years ago, surely it felt in its toes (at that time, a sort of fin-like proto-toe) how the lichen growing on the rough and porous lava rock softened its step. Used to the sweet enveloping cushion of the sea, the fish must have felt an incredible amount of pain stepping onto rock. Everyone is saying that today's society is just an echo of the Devonian period, and they're not wrong. We are all Tiktaalik, living in a hostile world we are barely adapted for, grateful for every patch of wet moss we can find. Anyways, this song is about that.”
