SYML Releases New Album “Nobody Lives Here”
Seattle-based singer-songwriter SYML released his third studio album “Nobody Lives Here” on April 4, 2025 via Nettwerk.
It is hid first album in two years since the 2023 album “The Day My Father Died”.
The album comprises a 11-track, which SYML wrote, recorded and produced, with production by Brian Eichelberger.
It is fueled by the keen understanding that life is a contradiction, a fleeting moment.
SYML said of the album, “We change, the world changes, and there is so much unknown. About a year ago I started writing songs that represent the change that is happening in front of my face, a group that have emerged to become this record.”
He continued, “If the dark inspires the good, that's a good thing to be honest about. All of these characters inside of me are fascinated by the same thing, which is: Why are humans even here and what is this ever-expanding universe that we're floating through?”- He shared on social media, “As I’m laying here in Berlin before flying to Paris in a few hours, it hit me that while this album is all about trying to be present, it’s one of the hardest things to do. When we care about something (or someone) we work hard to back it up. I’ve been working hard ever since I learned how, and it’s taken me around the world, but also removed me from what I love and care about. Being present requires us to be aware of ourselves, and for some of us, that means being isolated. For me, that perspective is only gained by being with those I love and who love me. This album has moments of isolation, and others that feel like an embrace. I hope, wherever you are, this album keeps you company. I’ll thank the many folks who have worked hard to realize this record below, but for now I want to thank my best friend. Brian, you see me and hear me, and we have learned this language together. Thank you, and I love you, buddy.”

SYML explained about some tracks for the album.
“Carry No Thing”
“The intangible force of love is what we take with us as we move through the chaos. There’s a strange beauty in some of the ways we imagine the world ending. I think it might be that it’s something we would all experience equally at the same time. Whether we run for the hills or submit, we only have the love for each other as the world burns around us.”
“Careful”
“Comparison is inevitable for us as humans. I tend to be a competitive person, and that can make comparison dangerous. As I grow, I feel like I have a better perspective on what it is to have a job, be in relationships, and be in my body. Luckily, I am surrounded by people who remind me that while these things help to define me, they are not who I am. ‘Careful’ is a reminder to myself.”
“The White Light of the Morning”
“For months after my dad passed away, I would have these dreams where I am with him in this bright and peaceful place. The saddest part was that, in my dream, he didn’t know he had died. It felt profound and helpless. When we experience loss in any form, our brains try so hard to make sense of it, and this is another attempt.”
“Heartbreakdown”
“No one is immune to heartbreak, and it happens when we are young and old. The best case is it teaches us how we want to love and be loved. The worst is that it hardens us and makes us cynical. The hope in this song is that we learn to forgive after a heart is broken.” - source : Apple Music
