  • Amie Blu Releases New Song “swimming in pity”

  • London-based singer-songwriter Amie Blu released a new song “swimming in pity” on March 27, 2025.

The song is her first music since the 2024 mixtape “how we lose”.
The track received its first play during BBC Radio 1's Future Artists with Sian Eleri.
It was written by Amie Blu, Humble the Great, and Will Wormald. Produced by Humble the Great.

Amie Blu said of the song, “I sometimes find a lot of comfort in my own sadness, and find it easier to wallow in my depression. As hard as it is to pull yourself out from that kind of place, it can also be really easy to just sit with it. ‘swimming in pity’ is me acknowledging this feeling of my own self-sabotage when it comes to my mental health.”

She shared on social media, “Being sad all the time actually sucks lol but it also feels really familiar and sometimes I find sooo much comfort in my own depression and that’s what this song is about.”
  • Amie Blu will release the next single called “Do I say?” on April 11, 2025. She teased the song on BBC Radio 1.

Amie Blu told Sian Eleri about the song, “This song is so weird, because sometimes, when I'm not feeling creative, I will pull beats out of my hard drive that have been sitting there for like, three, four years, or, like, really old beats I haven't heard in a long time. Or I'll go on splice and just try and write, like, a verse and a chorus quickly, just to get my brain flowing. And that's what happened with this song. And then it actually turned into a song. And I was like, 'oh', I'll just use the loop from today. So this one was a weird one. Obviously, I usually make all my beats and stuff myself, but the song is not about nails, which is obviously.”
