  • Ego Kill Talent Returns with New Song ”Reflecting Love”

  • Brazilian rock band Ego Kill Talent, consisting of Theo Van Der Loo (guitar), Raphael Miranda (drums), Niper Boaventura (guitar), Emmily Barreto (vocals) and Cris Botarelli (bass), returned with a new song ”Reflecting Love” on April 4, 2025.

It is their first music in a year since the 2024 single ”We Move As One” featuring Andreas Kisser and TalentRob Damiani.
The song is accompanied by a music video, which was directed by Denis Carrion and Cassiano Geraldo.
The track was written based on the personal experiences of the band lead singer Emmily Barreto.
It was written by Cristiane Rocha Botareli, Julie Emily Barreto De Queiroz, Miguel Roberto Boaventura Da Silva Junior, Raphael Bezerra Da Miranda, Theodores Johannes Neves Van Der Loo. Produced by Ego Kill Talent and Steve Evetts.

Emmily Barreto said of the song, “I shared with him (Theo Van Der Loo) the experience of coming out as a lesbian when I was younger, which was extremely challenging, especially because I grew up in a religious environment. It was a dark time in my life, full of self-doubt and loneliness. My friend and bandmate took this story, translated all the feelings I experienced and transformed it into lyrics that, for me, are a true treatise on overcoming and love.”
  • Emmily Barreto told TMDQA! about song, “It’s the story of how I came out, and I grew up in the Evangelical Church. It was a very difficult time for me, I felt very alone. But it's a special letter that tells how it all happened, and in the end everything is fine! Today, we allow ourselves to explore everything that makes sense to us, without fitting the band into just one box.”

  • The band drummer Raphael Miranda added, “The change in aesthetics came largely because of the change in the band’s line-up and happened naturally. When we changed vocalists, Emmily was the first person who came to mind and she immediately caused a stir that was very inspiring. The new compositions are in higher tones, so everything is a little more 'cheerful', and this was completely reflected in both the aesthetics and the music.”
