  • The Modbeats Releases New Song “The Passers-Bye”

  • New Jersey-based rock band The Modbeats, consisting of Philip Dunn (vocals/guitar), Joe Mandia (guitar), Scott Matison (bass), and Fizz (drums), released the second single of 2025 called “The Passers-Bye” on April 3, 2025, following “The Setting Sons” released back in February.

Both songs will appear on their upcoming debut album “Ballad of A Starving Artist”, which is expected to be released later this year via Mayleen Records.
The song explores the everyday movements of people from all walks of life. The band describes the track as a collection of “musings and observations of daily life in the modern world.”
Drawing inspiration from legendary English rock bands the song's chord progressions contribute to its rich, layered sound, seamlessly blending vintage influences with a modern perspective.
The band recorded the track at Lake House Studio in Asbury Park, New Jersey.
It was written by J. Vincent Vassallo and Philip Dunn.
  • The band said of the song, “What is really going on in the minds of regular people just moving about their business? Perhaps there is nothing there, but maybe there is? For some, there is bliss in not questioning anything or perhaps wanting more or thinking deeper about life…just being a passerby...”
