  • Wet Leg Announces New Album “moisturizer”, Premieres New Song “catch these fists” on BBC Radio 1

  • British indie rock band Wet Leg, consisting of Rhian Teasdale (vocals/rhythm guitar), Hester Chambers (guitar), Ellis Durand (bass), Henry Holmes (drums), and Joshua Mobaraki (guitar, synths), has announced their upcoming sophomore album “moisturizer” will be released on July 11, 2025.

The album is their first body of work in three years since the 2022 debut self-titled album.
From the album, the band premiered a new song “catch these fists” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.
The song is accompanied by a music video directed by Wet Leg, who filmed in their hometown Isle of Wight.
It was written by Ellis Durand, and Rhian Teasdale. Produced by Dan Carey.
The band will appear on The Tonight Show to perform the song on April 2, 2025.

Rhian Teasdale said of the song, “I thought I was straight all of my life until I met my current partner - these love songs are about them. I just found it so much more interesting and empowering to be writing love songs where I'm not lusting over a man - it feels a little bit different.”
She continued about the video, “We were just kind of having fun and exploring.”
  • Rhian Teasdale told Jack Saunders about the song, “This song is about the reoccurring real life nightmare of just people invading your space. Me and my friends went to chapel rowing gig at Brixton Academy, and it was amazing. And like everyone else in the crowd was just like, so lovely, and it's just like a very like safe space. And then afterwards, we went to a bar down the road, and just that kind of like ecstatic safe space feeling just completely dissolved as soon as we, like, set foot in this bar. So it was after that.”

  • The new album comprises 12 songs, produced by Dan Carey as with the debut album. Also, it is the first release as five band members, including founding members Leanne Teasdale and Hester Chambers, as well as touring members Ellis Durand, Henry Holmes and Joshua Mobaraki.
The band lead singer said, “Is this going to be fun to play live? It was very natural that we would write the second record together.”

She added, “I don't think we felt any pressure to switch it up. I think we were all just really excited to get to write together, because the lineups are a little bit different to the first album. It was just me and Hester, really. And so after going on tour for two years together, it was like the most natural thing that we would like write this next record together. And I'm really proud of what we've made together.”
