Sum 41 Drops Farewell Music Video for “Radio Silence”
Canadian rock band Sum 41, consisting of Deryck Whibley (lead vocals/rhythm guitar), Dave 'Brownsound' Baksh (guitar), Jason 'Cone' McCaslin (bass), Tom Thacker (guitar) and Frank Zummo (drums), dropped their final music video for “Radio Silence” directed by Ravi Dhar on April 1, 2025, marking the end of their 29-year career.
The song is featured on the eighth and final studio album “Heaven :x: Hell”, which was released last March.
It was written and produced by Deryck Whibley, with production by Mike Green.
In May 2023, the band announced that they retired after the release of the album. On March 30, 2025, the band was inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame during the 54th annual Juno Awards in Vancouver, where they performed a medley of their hits as their final performance.
The band said of the video, “As the Sum quietly set Sunday night, we wanted to leave you with something special to show our appreciation for all of the love that you have shown us over the years. We present you with the final Sum 41 music video.”- Before the Juno Awards, the band said, “Today, we take the stage for the last time as Sum 41. It's a surreal moment in so many ways. There are so many feelings, thoughts, and emotions running through me right now. So much of what has happened in my life and the journey of the band is exactly what I had hoped for-what I predicted as a young teenager plotting to take on the world.”
They continued, “I've often wondered how or why I saw so many things in my mind and then watched them unfold in real life. Could it have been a premonition or just the naïveté of youth? Was it manifestation? I'll never really know. But some things are simply unimaginable. I'll admit, I did NOT see this coming. Being inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame was never something I envisioned down the road. We are forever grateful and thankful for this incredible honor.” - source : Apple Music
