  • d4vd Premieres New Song “What Are You Waiting For” on BBC Radio 1

  • American singer-songwriter d4vd premiered a new song “What Are You Waiting For” on BBC Radio 1's New Music Show with Jack Saunders.

The song is the fourth single off of his upcoming debut album “WITHERED”, following “Where'd It Go Wrong?”, “One More Dance”, and “Crashing” with Kali Uchis.
The debut album is set tobe released on April 25, 2025.
The track was written by David Burke, and Tyler Spry, who also produced it. He wrote the song in Japan.

d4vd told Jack Saunders about the song, “I made it in Japan at 8am in the morning on my hotel bedroom. I mean like, I haven't done something like this since 2022 like, 'You and I', and 'Take Me to the Sun' and 'Dirty Secrets' and all that kind of stuff. I was just like in Japan getting ready for a show. Woke up. My producer had sent me a beat, couple hours earlier because of the time zone difference in America. And I was like, 'yo, this is heat.' I gotta record something right now. I was just like, staring out the window. I'm seeing like, all of Shibuya. It's like, beautiful. I'm overstimulated. I'm going crazy. I'm hearing the song in the background, and I'm like, yo, I gotta make something that really sounds like the old me. I gotta transport myself back into my old brain. And I started just spin out, ban ban ban, ban, done!.”
  • The debut album comprises 14 songs. According to a press release, it is an album crackling with love found, love lost, love created, and love destroyed through every chorus and every melodic line.

d4vd said of the album, “Thank you all eternally for waiting on me. This album means SO much to me you have no idea the blood sweat and tears that came with trying to create this project over the past 2 years. Constantly starting over and over and over until there was nothing left on this audio landscape of a canvas than thoughts, melodies, and emotions that were unequivocally me.”
