PUNCHBAG Announces Debut EP “I'm Not Your Punchbag”, Shares Title Track
London-based pop-punk sibling duo PUNCHBAG, consisting of Clara Bach (vocals) and Anders Bach (guitar), has announced their upcoming debut EP “I'm Not Your Punchbag” will be released on May 2, 2025 via Mute.
From the EP. the duo released the title track “I'm Not Your Punchbag” on March 26, 2025.
The song is the follow-up to “Fuck It”, which was released last month.
It was written by Anders Bach, Clara Bach, and Michelle Leonard. Produced by PUNCHBAG.
The band lead singer Clara Bach said of the song, “It comes from a 'harmless' small remark made to me at a dinner table once that really cut deep. From this small seed, if you like, the song grew into a kind of anthem for fighting back - a refusal to let people dump their shit on you.”
She continued, “This song helps explain the band name and our ethos. It's something to scream along to; a perfect therapy. 'Don't take it out on me, bitch!'”- The EP comprises 4 songs, produced by PUNCHBAG, working alongside collaborators Michelle Leonard and Dee Adam.
The duo told DORK about the EP, “We recorded everything at home together, just sitting in front of a laptop for weeks, going a tad mad until it was finished. The main challenges are just trying to get the mic stands to fit in Clara’s wardrobe where we record all the vocals.”
They continued, “I think that rawness and freshness came from literally just messing around, having fun and shouting with no filter. We had no rules, and we hope you can hear that.” -
