  • NERiMA Releases New Song “Fifty Years”

  • Toronto-based punk-rock band NERiMA has released their first single of 2025 called “Fifty Years”.

The song is the follow-up to "Reverence", which was released last October.
The track was inspired by the band lead vocalist Lexi's personal fears and delves into the anxiety of long-term commitment, questioning whether love can truly last a lifetime and wrestling with the fear that everything could one day fall apart.
It was written by Alexi Orial and produced by Daniel Scott Bell.

Lexi said of the song, “'Fifty Years' is a really fun song sonically, but the lyrics are kind of a huge downer. The person in the song has already convinced themselves that happiness will eventually end, so they can't fully enjoy it now. It's heavy to think about, but it's also a reminder that I don't have to let these worries affect me the way they affect the person in the song.”
  • The band consists Alexi (vocals/bass), Vee (drums), and AJ (guitar). Recently, Vee left the band. The new single is the last song to feature Vee.

Vee said, “Hi everyone, it's vee (the one who plays drums and sings and bass sometimes) !! We've got a show coming up on the 22nd, and due to certain personal things, it will be my last show with Nerima for the foreseeable future. This has nothing to do with the band, I still absolutely love my bandmates and i cannot wait to see how far they go. I'll just be watching from the sidelines because it's better for me at the moment :] Thank you to everyone who's made being in this band an unforgettable and amazing experience.”
