Haven Madison Releases New Song “Why Do The Pills Work”
American alt-pop singer-songwriter Haven Madison released a new song “Why Do The Pills Work” on March 21, 2025.
The song is accompanied by the Jon Vulpine-directed music video.
It is her first single of 2025, following “Obsessed” released last October.
On the track, she pairs vulnerable, diary-like confessions with a soaring melody.
The track was written by Mary Kutter, Haven Madison, Jordan Sherman, and Andrew DeRoberts, who also produced it.
Haven Madison said of the song, “I've had anxiety since I was 8. Going in and out of hospitals because they thought I had a heart condition, when it was my anxiety changing the way my body physically functioned. I'll never forget when I started medication and it started working, so I wrote a song about it.”- She continued, “I had just started taking anxiety medicine. I was a mess and then one day I woke up-I was in a whole new world. And I remember thinking, is this what being normal feels like? I went home and wrote in my journal, why do the pills work?”
