Gary Barlow Teams Up with Colbie Caillat for New Song “If There's Not A Song About It”
British pop group Take That's lead singer Gary Barlow joined forces with American singer-songwriter Colbie Caillat to release a new song “If There's Not A Song About It” on March 20, 2025.
This marks the first collaboration between Gary Barlow and Colbie Caillat.
The pair first performed the song on BBC Radio 2 Piano Room last month.
For Gary Barlow, it is his first release as a solo artist in three years since 2022 single “A Different Stage”.
Also, the song will appear on his upcoming solo EP, which is set be released later this year.
Meanwhile, for Colbie Caillat, the song is her first collaborative single in two years since the 2023 “I'll Be Here” with Sheryl Crow.
The track was written by Colbie Caillat, Gary Barlow, and Gavin DeGraw. Produced by Gary Barlow, Jimmy Robbins, Eric Arjes, and Ryan Carline.- Gary Barlow said of the song, “I drew inspiration from a friend’s situation, to write a song that explores those complex emotions when a breakup ends on good terms. There’s an undeniable sadness, but also acceptance; I wrote it in London before coming together with the brilliant Colbie and Gavin DeGraw - if there wasn’t a song about it, there is now!”
Colbie Caillat said, “Working with Gary and Gavin on If There’s Not A Song About It was such a special experience. The song beautifully captures the emotions of parting ways with gratitude rather than heartbreak, and I loved being part of that message, especially because it’s something I’ve personally experienced. Gary is an incredible songwriter, and blending our voices on this track felt effortless. I can’t wait for everyone to hear it!” - source : Apple Music
