  • Jensen McRae Releases New Song “Savannah”

  • Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Jensen McRae released a new song “Savannah” along with a music video on March 20, 2025.

The song is the third single off of her upcoming sophomore album “I Don't Know How But They Found Me!”, following “Massachusetts” and “Praying For Your Downfall”.
The new album is set to be released on April 25, 2025 via Dead Oceans.
The track was written by Jensen McRae and produced by Brad Cook. The accompanying video was directed by Rena Johnson.

Jensen McRae said of the song, “'Savannah' is the oldest song on the album and I think is the song that speaks most to the title and the cover art. It's about leaving a bad relationship, falling into one that seems good, and running away, only to be confronted by your past on every street corner.”

She added, “This song is so close to my heart. I wrote it alone in my bedroom two weeks after the first album came out. I had no idea what else was coming. I'm so grateful to be sharing this next chapter with you guys.”
  • Jensen McRae shared on social media, “Before I got my heart broken, I broke someone else's heart. Although the whole experience begged the question: does it count as breaking their heart if they deserved it? If they did something so unspeakable, so unforgivable, that I had no choice but to leave? I still don't have the answer; I haven't found it in Los Angeles, and I couldn't find it in Savannah, the city he always said was his favorite. Every moment during my brief trip there was bittersweet-I was so in love that even looking at my person made me dizzy, but reminders of my past were quite literally on every street corner. So I wrote about what cannot be outrun-how the only way out is in.”

  • The new album comprises 11 songs, which she recorded with producer Brad Cook in North Carolina.
The album title is inspired by the 1985 film “Back to the Future”.

Jensen McRae said of the album, “I could've easily collapsed beneath the weight of what happened to me, but I didn't. I was bulletproof the whole time.”
