Anderson East Releases New Song “Chasing You”
Nashville-based singer-songwriter Anderson East released a new song “Chasing You” on March 7, 2025.
The song is the second single off of his upcoming album “Worthy”, which is set to be released on May 30, 2025 via Rounder Records.
The ballad finds romance in Last Thursdayism, the notion that the universe might have been created just last week, with all our memories and history constructed in that moment, and two people who have a near-celestial bond.
He sings, “Could have been forever or last Thursday / Could have been a million years ago / All I know is I’ve been chasing you through every lifetime we’ve been through.”
The track was written by Anderson East and Lori McKenna. Produced by Dave Cobb and Anderson East.
Recorded by Ethan Barrette, Tom Tapley and Anderson East at Georgia Mae, Savannah, GA and Overnite Studio, Nashville, TN.
The frack features Darren Dodd on drums, Gregg Garner on bass, Dave Cobb on acoustic guitar, Philip Towns on keyboards, Ben Clark on trumpet, Nate Heffron on saxophone, and April Rucker on background vocal.- The new album comprises 10 songs, produced by Dave Cobb and Anderson East. It is his first album in three years since the 2022 album “M.W.N.D. / F.A.M.E.”.
Also, it is the first release under his new label Rounder Records.
The album began as Anderson East merely workshopping new songs at Dave Cobb's new beachside studio in Savannah with the idea that they were just “testing the lines and connections” with no plan to make an album, sell music or do anything commercial with it. -
