ILUKA Releases New Song “Woman Gone Mad”
Los Angeles-based Australian singer-songwriter ILUKA released a new song “Woman Gone Mad” on March 7, 2025 via Nettwerk.
The song is inspired by the aftermath of the Los Angeles fire and delves into themes of resistance, strength and solidarity.
The track is her first single of 2025 and follows the 2024 singles “Cry Evil!” and “Wings”.
It was written by Nicola Iluka Jane Thorburn, and Matthew Riley who also produced the track as with her 2024 singles.
ILUKA said of the song, “'Woman Gone Mad' is a song for the insane times we're currently living through. While oligarchy and fascism seem to be the new reality, as weak men in lower power become more unhinged, I think music, art, and community are what'll save us. My neighborhood of Altadena in Los Angeles was burned to the ground, and there's also this element of grief in the song... Watching the billionaires continue to get richer as our planet and home is literally on fire.”- She shared on social media, “This song was born out of a mix of grief after my neighbourhood of Altadena burnt to the ground & rage at what is currently unfolding here. Fuck the broligarchy it's the era of boycotts n economic blackouts n protesting n music n art n community & covens & saving our planet ! stay hydrated, eat your vegetables & go madd.”
