Sophia Kaloustian Releases New Song “Used To Breathe”
Los Angeles-based singer-songwriter Sophia Kaloustian released a new song “Used To Breathe” on March 7, 2025.
The song is her first single of 2025 and the third single, following “best intentions” and “slow dancing, slow destruction”.
The track is composed of her dynamic vocals mixed with her iconic sonic blend of pop and indie influences.
She narrates a story of heartbreak, but not the kind where you miss the person, this tale is about missing love itself and the concept of romance.
The track was written by Sophia Alicia Kaloustian, and Coen Sosa who also produced it.
Sophia Kaloustian said of the song, “This song doesn't discuss the typical 'I miss my ex and am heartbroken' theme that most breakup songs focus on. What separates this song from the norm is that I'm missing the space these relationships used to take up in my life and how I'm trying to cope with the absence of such a significant presence...suddenly being gone.”- She added, “The act of being in love with someone...was so natural for so long, it was as if it was an essential normal bodily function that I didn't even have to actively engage in, such as breathing.”
Sophia Kaloustian shared on social media, “I wrote this one about the feeling of being single and learning to live without the comfort of a relationship. Cause after almost a decade it's all you know...kind of like breathing. I hope you all love it and maybe? hopefully? can relate?????” -
